Critical Reflection
It has been a fabulous 13 weeks in this module. It is one of the 2 modules that I can interact with my classmate in class. From the beginning of the module, the goal that I wanted to achieve is to improve my report writing and public speaking skills.
The first task assigned was to write a formal letter to introduce myself and the goals that I want to achieve in this module. With the evaluations and peer feedbacks given by Professor Brad and my classmates, I discovered that my weak points are sentence structuring and oral presentation.
For the product analysis report, I spent more time working on phrasing my words to the best of my ability. With the introduction of report writing standards such as APA style and citations are needed while referencing it from external sources, I became more conscious of ensuring that the sources I find are credible and the citations used in text and in the references are in the correct format.
For the design report, my team did not use any product from our product analysis report as the improvements that can be made are limited and not practical. Hence, we researched a few different products such as the Samsung Tab S7 and GTWonder Boy and finally settled on the iPhone 11 Pro Max as our choice of product improvements. Working with the team gave me an insight into how important communication is, especially in times of a pandemic, where we can't meet each other as frequently.
For the oral presentation of the design report, I wanted to give a pitch that can relate to the audience using gestures and references from my teammates so I challenged myself to give the speech without the use of a mobile phone and I am glad that I managed to do it. From the feedback I got, I will need to work on my voice projection.
